Anthony & Trish started dancing salsa in July 2006
After dancing for just over a year they were asked to take over DJ.
Then two months later in January 2008 they took over a small salsa night at a local night club, they now run a vibrant salsa club in Jersey.
Anthony & Trish teach three lessons a week and run five Latino dance nights a month.
They love to teach beginners and watch them grow into confident dancers

Kate is the founder and owner of Groove Academy in Staffordshire.  Groove may only have been around for 4 years but Kate’s lifetime in the leisure industry has given her good grounding to create this ‘dancing community’.  She is finding dance a great instrument to bring people together in a fun, energetic environment.  Her teaching qualifications include UKA Rock n Roll, Salsa, Argentine Tango and Street Dance.  This weekend you will be experience Kate’s excitement about Rock n Roll but she will not be far from any dance floor, given the chance. So ‘if you are dancin’, Kate is askin’

Nicolai – Salsa teacher, DJ, performer

Nicolai - Jersey Salsa Weekender

Dance has always been part of Brigitte’s life, having spent most of her teenage years dancing ballet, jazz and rock‘n’roll… her parents encouraged her to study more, but twinkle toes knew better. Franklyn, her dance partner got into salsa purely by accident. He went to a club, admired this dance and never looked back. He started with Cuban style then LA On1, and now New York On2.

Brigitte and Franklyn have a proven record in helping students develop their dance skills and tailor their lessons to suit their students ability. Their classes are fun, funky and very popular. They don’t take themselves too seriously so you always have a laugh while learning fun moves and footwork. With Franklyn’s unique jazzy style and Brigitte’s french flair they never fail to excite.

Sagi Iluz is the founder of The Scottish Salsa Congress, the biggest salsa event in Scotland. Sagi Iluz started salsa in 1999. He fell in love with the dance pretty much straight away and so became extremely passionate about learning it! He started to travel as much as he possibly could, taking lessons with Super Mario, Leon Ross, Yamulee, Santo Rico, Cobo Brothers and many more. He started teaching in Scotland in 2000. Sagi's style of dancing has been described as "smooth", "debonair" and "slick" so the name "Salsa Suave" was very befitting!

Sagi's love and passion for the music is very apparent in not only his teaching but also in his dancing. He is well known for making his followers feel as if they are the best dancer in the world. Sagi is also a lot of fun on the dance floor.

Nicolai – Salsa teacher, DJ, performer.

Well-known at home and abroad, he has been involved in the salsa scene for the best part of 20 years. His teaching style combines clarity, accessibility and user-friendliness with fun and enjoyment. He has a warm open approach which makes students feel comfortable and looked-after. As a DJ, Nicolai has an instinctive feel for the dancers and the dance-floor and can play to suit the crowd to keep any salsa event rocking.... And rumour has it that he gives the best hugs in the salsa scene! Ladies make sure you get a dance with him!
